Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that Food Bank on the Edge operates on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ First Nation, and within the broader homelands of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples.
We are grateful to live and serve within this community, whose lands and waters have sustained generations through deep knowledge, stewardship, and care. As we provide food and support to those in need, we recognize that food itself is deeply connected to land, culture, and sovereignty.
We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization that contribute to food insecurity and inequity, particularly for Indigenous communities. We commit to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships, and to supporting pathways toward food sovereignty, dignity, and wellness for all.
